Hello! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far. We’ve had gorgeous weather here and I’m hoping it continues right through to fall. Oh heck, how about through to winter. If we are dreaming we may as well dream big right?
This warm weather has definitely made me want to be in my garage more. I have been working on a few building projects to go in my house, and they are taking me a little while because I am learning as I go. This woodworking thing is definitely not as hard and scary as I figured it would be, but it does take time.
So while I am working away on those big projects, I have also been doing some smaller ones. This week I am going to show you how I transformed a boring black foot stool to a dreamy, soft footstool with just three things.
- Some metalic spray paint
- A fur rug from IKEA
- A staple gun
Simple items and the difference is amazing.
Here is the stool before…
Not bad but not amazing by any stretch of the imagination. Black and boring in my books.
But with three simple items…
tada… what a difference.
I love the new stool. I can sit in my cozy window seat, put my feet up on this soft cloud, and drink my coffee all day. Of course that is frowned upon by my family. Apparently they would like to eat and have clean clothes once in a while. Like I said before if your gonna dream, dream big.
This was a small fur rug I picked up from IKEA for around $15.00.
It was a perfect fit. I only needed to trim to fit the corners a little better. Otherwise it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Once it was wrapped around and stapled down, I took the base to the garage for it’s much needed makeover. Rust-o-leum’s metallic silver spray paint.
I wiped it down real good (in other words, got rid of all the dust that had built up). And gave it a few coats of paint.
After it was dry, I was able to put it all back together and test it out.
Ahhh yes… Perfection. I’ll see you in a few weeks when I am able to peel myself away from this spot. Please just send coffee and chocolate. I’ll be fine.
