Hello! Hope your weekend was a great one! I was busy this weekend with the sweet part of A Sweet Home life. You could find me in the the kitchen all Saturday working on a cake. I don’t get to do my cakes much anymore now that I am back working full time. But I made a cake for a little guy – just as I have for the last four years. They are always so fun to do. Every year is a different theme and so far I have done a Disney Planes cake, Lego cake, Minecraft cake and this year was a Star Wars cake. So this is kind of my diy for the week. Hope you are okay with a little break in the usual diy and decor and up for something a little sweeter.
Like I said this years theme was Star Wars. His interest was BB8 and R2D2 so this is what I came up with.
I am always worried when I do a cake like this that it may not make it to the final location intact. Once it leaves my place I close the door and just hope. 😛 So far I have never had anyone let me know that the unspeakable has happened! This cake made it just fine. I know because she sent me a picture of the happy little guy and all his friends in front of it!
So, sorry again for the little break from my diy but for me this is also a diy. I make my own fondant and have to use wood and a hammer to support the entire thing so… in a way tools were involved – So DIY!! 🙂
Next week I will have another great tutorial for you. I am working on some stuff for Halloween.
